About Us
The Amazonian Crew is a Staples High School Club that was created to help raise funds and awareness to help Brazil’s indigenous and traditional populations that are currently suffering from a multitude of health and structural problems. We are the American chapter partner of Associação Médicos da Floresta in Brazil. This year, we will partner with BrasilFoundation to further spread our influence and donate even more money.
Associação Médicos da Floresta is a Brazilian nonprofit organization that works with a network of volunteers to adventure into the Amazon Rainforest and other remote areas in Brazil to help treat indigenous and traditional people in need of medical and foundational services. These communities typically experience a lot of government ignorance, making AMDAF’s work extremely important.
Our goal for 2024 is to improve the general infrastructure for indigenous communities.
• Designing an efficient system to transport trash and recyclables from isolated Amazonian communities to major cities.
• Developing a system to fluoridate water in Amazonian communities and provide clean and efficient drinking water.
We will have an upcoming fundraiser on 4/7 at Wakeman
